VALE - KATHY AULT

Kathy Ault (Tony Flanagan's partner and our reunion co-ordinator) lost her battle with cancer and passed away on Sunday 9 November 2008.

In Tony's words, "Heaven now has a new angel".

The fact that our reunions got better and better over the years is entirely due to Kathy's great organising ability. She will be sadly missed. Even in her last days, Kathy was making sure that our Adelaide reunion would continue to be an occasion where we could all get together once again. It was her express wish that the Adelaide reunion goes ahead even though she will not be there. So lets all get together and make Adelaide a reunion she would have been proud of.

To everyone who attended our reunions, it was a privelege to have known her - the OFP family has lost a dear friend. Our sympathies go out to Tony and Kathy's family.

As a tribute to Kathy, Lawrie O'Neill has penned the following lines:-

KATHY

IN ALL OUR HEARTS AND MEMORIES
YOU STAND ALONE AS ONE

WHO’S SELFLESS EFFORTS TO OUR CAUSE
HAS ALWAYS MADE THEM FUN

FOR ALL THE TREASURED MEMORIES
YOU REALLY ARE THE BEST

ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS DEAR KATH
GOD GRANT YOU PEACE AND REST

Dear Tony,
Bob Nash passed on the sad news and I responded, "If you are speaking with Tony, please pass on my condolences to Tony. Sadly I will not meet Kathy but I will remember when meeting friends in Adelaide that she is a leading person in bringing us all together; I will indeed be thankful for her thoughtfulness to all and that she has brought much happiness to Tony."
Take care,

A special friend and a true lady.
Someone who knew, loved and understood us Vets.
A difficult thing to do for many but not our Kathy.
You will be sadly missed by all who knew you.
You will always hold a special place within our hearts.
Our loss is heavens gain.
Our love and sympathy goes out to Tony.

For us partners of OFP vets we will be forever grateful to Kathy for the special touches that she gave to the reunions. Her thoughts to include things that had a female appeal as well as the blokey stuff for the guys. She was not only a coordinator to these but she became a friend as well. Our thoughts go out to Tony and Kathy's family at this most difficult time.

Kathy, now the brightest star in our heaven.
We'll miss you, as a friend, a lady, your sense of fun and your unflapable organisational skills. Nothing was too much trouble for you.
Our hearts ache for you Tony.
We will be thinking of you at this difficult time on Monday the 17th.
Love always,
Jaye & John

Kathy was loved by us all, always a warm smile, her organisation skills and passion for getting it right will always be remembered by OFP vets and partners, she had so many good qualities, our feelings are with you at this time Tony.

If we measure a persons worth by what they do for others, then Kath would be at the very top.
